Contest Giveaway – Blue Bayou BBQ Sauce

January 16, 2011  |  Bloggity Blog Blog, Food and Drink, Games  |  7 Comments

**** UPDATE****   Well it looks like either my readership fell off the face of the earth or food blogs are just not as popular anymore. With that being said I really do appreciate the few who responded to this contest so everyone will receive some of the BBQ sauce. Email me your addresses and I should have some ready by this weekend the 22nd.

As a new start to 2011 I would like to do something a little different and hold a contest.

Looking back over the last 4 years of my food blogging experience I have seen how my cooking has progressed and how my writing style has either gotten better or worse depending on your point of view. It is also interesting to go back and look at the individual post and I am able to tell how inspired I was at the time or did I just need to get a post up.

What I would like for you to do is to leave a comment on this post telling me what are your favorite 2 posts over the history of this blog and your least favorite ( I promise I won’t get offended but please just one) You can give me reasons why or just the 3 posts. I will choose at random 3 winners and in return for your honest feedback I will send you a pack of my little side project over the last 8 years – my bbq sauce.

I’ll keep the contest open till January 15th.

I look forward to what you all think and Happy New Year :)

Tomatoes from my garden…..

July 27, 2009  |  Family, Games, Gardening  |  1 Comment

Last friday we went over to my in-laws because my brother in law was visiting from Spain. They were cooking dinner but we decided to use up some of our fresh tomatoes from our garden before they spoiled. All we did was cut them into chunks, season with salt and pepper and let sit. After about an hour we drained (and kept) the tomato water that had accumulated and tossed the tomatoes with a basil and arugula vinaigrette  from our garden( the herbs not the sauce). I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the finished product because a one Mr Hops and Mr Barley were occupying my time. Below is a picture of the prep or what was left over…….
